Summary
This Cookie Notice supplements the information in our Privacy Notice by explaining how Michelin Connected Fleet powered by NEXTRAQ LLC (NexTraq), including its affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively, “MCF”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), and our business partners and service providers, use cookies and related technologies in providing and managing our online services and our marketing communications.
It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.
In some cases, we may use cookies and related technologies described in this Cookie Notice to collect personal data, or to collect information that becomes personal data if we combine it with other information. For more details about how we process your personal data, please review the Privacy Notice (linked above).
When we use the term “Services,” we are referring only to the products and services that we offer through MCF that post or link to our Privacy Notice (linked above) such as products, websites, digital services, mobile applications, and services.
What is a cookie or similar technologies?
A cookie is a small data file that is downloaded to a browser when you visit a website that allow us and our third-party partners and providers to collect information about our email communications, websites, and other online Services. We and our third-party partners and providers may also use other, related technologies to collect this information, such as web beacons, pixels, embedded scripts, location-identifying technologies, and logging technologies. In this Cookie Notice, we call all these technologies “cookies”.
What information does MCF and third-party partners and providers collect through cookies?
When enabled, cookies will automatically collect information about an interaction or visit to our website or other online Services or our marketing emails. Cookies may collect log information about the type of device being used to access our website or online service, the browser type and operating software, the internet protocol (IP) address assigned to the session, the date and time of visit, and other similar information. Pixels in our marketing communications may record when an email was opened, if you allow pictures to load automatically in your emails, or record if an action was taken such as clicking on the email links or forwarding the email.
Third-party partners and providers may also collect personal data about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use our websites and online Services.
Other policies we encourage you to read
Some of the information from cookies does not identify you directly or indirectly and does not constitute personal data. Others may allow you to identify yourself and constitute personal data and as such be subject to data protection regulation. For further information on how we process your personal data, we encourage you to read our Privacy Notice (available here: https://connectedfleet.michelin.com/privacy-policy/) and the privacy policies of our partners available on their websites.
Why does MCF use cookies?

For some categories of cookies (for example, targeted advertising cookies) you may be able to control whether a cookie is installed or read on your device.

Targeting and Advertising Cookies |
These cookies may be set through our websites by our third-party partners and providers. These cookies record interactions with your websites, online services, and marketing advertisements. They may also record the location from which you are accessing our content. These cookies may be used to personalize advertising and marketing. Targeting and tracking cookies enable MCF and third parties to provide services, mainly advertising, and to improve the effectiveness of such services. Examples include cookies that enable advertising agencies to serve ads based on your interests as determined by how you browse MCF’s websites, or that limit their repetition. |
You can use our cookie management tool or your browser to accept or reject these cookies.
See the information below, to learn more about these and other advertising networks and your ability to opt out of collection by certain third parties. |
Third-Party Cookies and Interest-Based Advertising
We participate in interest-based advertising and use third-party advertising companies to serve you targeted advertisements based on your browsing history. We permit third-party online advertising networks, social media companies and other third-party services, to collect information about your use of our online Services over time so that they may play or display ads on the Services, on other websites, or services you may use, and on other devices you may use. Typically, though not always, the information used for interest-based advertising is collected through tracking technologies, such as cookies, web beacons, embedded scripts, location-identifying technologies, and similar technology (collectively, “tracking technologies”), which recognize the device you are using and collect information, including click stream information, browser type, time and date you visited the site, AdID, precise geolocation and other information. We may share a common account identifier (such as a hashed email address or user ID) with our third-party advertising partners to help identify you across devices. We and our third-party partners use this information to make the advertisements you see online more relevant to your interests, as well as to provide advertising-related services such as reporting, attribution, analytics, and market research. We may also use services provided by third parties (such as social media platforms) to serve targeted ads to you and others on such platforms. We may do this by providing a hashed version of your email address or other information to the platform provider. See “Your Choices About Online Ads” below, to learn more about interest-based advertising.

Your Choices About Online Ads
We support the self-regulatory principles for online behavioral advertising (Principles) published by the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) and, for our Canadian sites, the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (DAAC). This means that we allow you to exercise choice regarding the collection of information about your online activities over time and across third-party websites for online interest-based advertising purposes. More information about these Principles can be found at https://youradchoices.com/ and/or www.youradchoices.ca. If you want to opt out of receiving online interest-based advertisements on your internet browser from advertisers and third parties that participate in the DAA/DAAC program and perform advertising-related services for us and our partners, please follow the instructions at https://optout.aboutads.info/, www.youradchoices.ca (Canada), or https://optout.networkadvertising.org/ to place an opt-out cookie on your device indicating that you do not want to receive interest-based advertisements. Opt-out cookies only work on the internet browser and device they are downloaded onto. If you want to opt out of interest-based advertisements across all your browsers and devices, you will need to opt out on each browser on each device you actively use. If you delete cookies on your device generally, you will need to opt out again. If you want to opt out of receiving online interest-based advertisements on mobile apps, please follow the instructions at https://youradchoices.com/appchoices or www.youradchoices.ca (Canada).

Cookie Management and the Right to Opt Out of the Sale or Sharing of Personal Data for Targeted Advertising Purposes
For California Residents: Unless you have exercised your Right to Opt Out (as described in the “Your Privacy Choices” section of our California Privacy Disclosures), we may “sell” or “share” your personal data to third parties for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. The third parties to whom we sell or share personal data may use such information for their own purposes in accordance with their own privacy statements, which may include reselling or sharing this information to additional third parties.
You do not need to create an account with us to exercise your Right to Opt Out. However, we may ask you to provide additional personal data so that we can properly identify you in our dataset and to track compliance with your opt-out request. We will only use personal data provided in an opt-out request to review and comply with the request. If you chose not to provide this information, we may only be able to process your request to the extent we are able to identify you in our data systems.
To exercise your right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal data as it relates to the use of cookies and other tracking technologies for analytics and targeted ads:
Once you make an opt-out request, you may change your mind and opt-in at any time by returning to this Cookie Notice and clicking on the “Your Privacy Choices” link in the footer of the website or contacting us at privacy.amn@michelin.com.
In addition, by visiting www.privacyrights.info, you can opt out from sales and sharing of this type of personal data by businesses that participate in the DAA’s CCPA App-based Opt-Out Tool. To make opt-out requests related to mobile apps on your device for businesses participating in the opt out tool, you can download the appropriate app at https://privacyrights.info/appchoices-ccpa. Please note that when you opt out of receiving interest-based advertisements, this does not mean you will no longer see advertisements from us or on our online Services. It means that the online ads that you do see from DAA program participants should not be based on your interests. We are not responsible for the effectiveness of, or compliance with, any third-parties’ opt-out options or programs or the accuracy of their statements regarding their programs. In addition, third parties may still use cookies to collect information about your use of our online Services, including for analytics and fraud prevention as well as any other purpose permitted under the DAA’s Principles.
